Been neglecting the blog for a couple reasons. First and foremost, I've had no computer for about a week. I've been able to use my phone for the basics like Facebook and AOL, but the blog hasn't been a priority. Secondly, I haven't had anything interesting to blog about. I'm still reading The Time Traveler's Wife, I still need a camera, and I still want another baby. I did get to go up and see Amelia's house this weekend. The kitchen looks really good and the bedroom and bath are impressive. I think that once they get their walls up and mudded they'll be able to go faster than they have been. They'll be finished by this time next year. I honestly have no idea how she lives in a construction zone. One thing I realized, though, is that I don't really have a clear style in my house. I guess I'd call it modern, but there are some country aspects to it, too. My goal before we move is to determine my style so I can decorate my new house with a goal in mind.

February Resolution Recap
February's Resolution was the encouragement tablet for Eric. I give myself a C. I started it and filled up a whole page, but I didn't write on it as often as I should. One reason is because I tell him most of the things that I would have written down about how much I appreciate him and how awesome he is. He still got encouraged, just not on paper I guess.
Kaleb and I are going to be on our own a lot the next couple of weeks. Eric left this afternoon for Jackson to listen to some concert bands and he'll be back sometime Saturday. Then next week he's leaving Tuesday night for Disney World (without me!) and won't be back until the next Sunday. Take forever! I don't know how I'm going to deal with all the alone time. I depend on him more than he knows. I'm determined to be productive and proactive on my "free woman days."

Oh What a Beautiful Day
Okay, so I've given up on the Challenge 31 thing. I haven't the stamina to blog everyday. What I can do is blog about the somewhat mundane events in my life. The weather has been so pretty the last few days that I'm almost scared to blog about it for fear it'll disappear and go back to winter. The only bad thing about this weather is that it makes me feel like it's April instead of February. We have 58 days of school left but it makes it feel like a lot less. Anyway, we took advantage of this pretty weather today and walked around downtown Hattiesburg with Eric's parents. We went to the A Gallery, The Shed, and Main Street Books. Kaleb didn't have such a good day. When we were at The Shed Kaleb saw another little girl sitting at the table beside us and decided to flirt and show off. He was dancing and smashed his head (his ear to be precise) on the table. It swoll up and turned purple. He still has a mark and it is so sad. We went walking to all the places mentioned above and when we were at the book store he ran smack into the corner of a table and got another knot on the other side of his head. He's been grumpy ever since. Probably because his head is killing him. I gave him some Tylenol right before bed and he went straight to sleep. I love that little guy.

Challenge 31 Days 13, 14, and 15
Since I haven't been doing this everyday I've kind of lost track of which one I'm on so I'll just go through 15, do my best to blog every day, and see where I end up.
Day 13
Write about something you would like to change about yourself for the better.
I would like to change my financial discipline. Meaning, I want some financial discipline. We're going through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University and we're trying to follow the steps, but if I don't want to cook then I suggest we go to eat and we do. I would like to be able to make it through the month without freaking out about how we're going to pay all our bills. One of the problems is we have more month than money. I'm going to have to really make an effort to be more financially responsible.
Day 14
Post an outfit pic.
I can't do this because my camera is broken. I'm going to have to get another one, although I don't know how or when.
Day 15
Write to encourage a friend.
I want to encourage my friend Crissy. I want her to know that there are so many people praying for her and her family. There are so many people invested in her life, her kids, and her marriage. As a friend, I am always around to talk. This may be the worst time in your marriage, but through God all things are possible. People have stayed married through everything that usually causes divorce. I love you and I'm here for you alway.

A Loaded Post
I've been pretty busy and sleepy lately so I've neglected my blogging. I'll try to catch up in this post.
Day 10
What is Jesus teaching you as a wife, mom, or friend?
As a wife, Jesus is teaching me (or at least trying to) to show my love to Eric. I know his love language and I know the language I use to express love. Unfortunately they are different. I'm going to make a concerted effort to support and love my husband. One example is the encouragement tablet. That's my February resolution - the encouragement tablet. This is how it works: I have a writing tablet on the fridge. I write little notes of encouragement to Eric throughout the month. As a mom, I'm learning that my most important goal as a mother is to raise Kaleb up in a Godly atmosphere. This doesn't just include a Godly home. It includes having God in all aspects of Kaleb's life. As a friend, God is showing me that gossip hurts. There's some things going on around here that just remind me that gossip can really hurt others.
Day 11
Post a recipe.
Here's a recipe for potato soup that I got from my mother-in-law.
5 large potatoes
8 0z sour cream
8 oz Velveeta
Cut the potatoes into quarters. Boil potatoes in just enough water to cover them for 20 minutes. Salt the water. Pour out some of the water for thicker soup. Mash the potatoes in the water. Add the sour cream and Velveeta. Keep on low heat long enough to melt all of the ingredients together. I like to add bacon bits to mine to add a little more saltiness and texture.
Day 12
Write about what wears you out as a woman.
As a woman I get worn out from the expectations to be able to do everything all at once. I'm a wife, a mother, a teacher, and a woman. Sometimes I think I'd just like to have a couple days without anyone around so I could sleep late, have a house that stays clean, read, watch chick flicks and cry, and just relax. Of course, I know I'd miss Kaleb...oh and Eric, too. Overall, being a woman is amazing and I'm so glad I'm not a guy.

Challenge 31 Day 9
Day 9
What virtues do you value in yourself?
I value my patience, relaxedness, love for reading, and faithfulness. There are some days when I feel like the most impatient person alive, but then someone tells me they don't know how I keep it together. Patience is a virtue that I value in other (Michelle Duggar) and that I'm trying to keep in my life.
I feel like I'm a pretty relaxed person. That can go the good or bad way depending on what I'm relaxed about, but I think I do okay. I don't stress out about things that others stress about. I try to stay calm and put things in perspective.
I LOVE READING. I feel like it is one of the things that defines me. I have to be reading a book to be happy. I love transporting to different times and places. I try to read all types of books and I try to instill a love of reading in Kaleb.
I think I'm a pretty faithful person. Once I'm your friend, I'm your friend forever. I honestly don't make friends very easily. I have acquaintances and a few choice good friends. I think I'm faithful with everything in my life. I go to church, I watch the same shows, I like to attend the same events (Mistletoe Marketplace - even though I don't like it or buy anything, Carols by Candlelight - even though it's a four hour drive round trip).

Challenge 31 Days 7 & 8
Obviously I'm not the most consisten with this daily Challenge 31 thing. But, I am making up for what I miss.
Day 7
Write a blog to encourage another beautiful woman.
Since I'm pretty sure Amelia is the only one who reads this blog, and since she's so awesome, I'm going to encourage her (you). You have no idea how much I look up to you and envy you. I wish I could do some of the stuff you can do. I have no vision and couldn't buy a fixer-upper house even if it cost $1. You're house is going to look awesome and I'm sure I'll want you to come fix mine next. Another reason I admire you is because you went off to Australia to be a nanny. That's something I'd never have the guts to do. You have so much strength and courage and creativity. Sometimes I want to be you (or at least have your wardrobe).
Day 8
Have a beauty tip? Share, please!
Haha~ Beauty tip? I don't wear makeup or dress up. I do have some rules that I try to follow though.
1. Moisturize while my face is still wet.
2. Don't eat after 8.
3. Try to incorporate patterns.
4. Make my makeup look natural.
5. Avoid the FUPA at all costs.
